Frequently Asked Questions

How can we help you?

Taking part in the GENESIS study

We are collecting different information through different research activities. Taking part or not is entirely up to you. You can also decide to take part in all or just some of the activities described below.

  • A short online questionnaire about your experience of RAQs and general views on using them in outpatient care. The questionnaire takes about 10-20 minutes to complete.
  • An online interview where we will ask you about your views on different ways of using RAQs. The interview will last up to an hour and can be arranged at a time suitable to you.
  • An online Delphi (two-part) survey to identify what type of content should be included in RAQs. The Delphi survey will ask patients, clinical teams and people who manage health information to vote on what should be included in RAQs.
  • If you do take part you can decide to stop at any time. If you decide to stop you will have the option to delete any research data that has not yet been anonymised or analysed.

This is a low-risk study There are no direct benefits to taking part, although we hope the study will provide information on how we can develop and use RAQs to better support patient care in the future.

    Remote Assessment Questionnaire collection

The GENESIS study is looking to review remote assessment questionnaires to look at the different content and types of questions included. All RAQs sent to us will be kept confidential and will not be shared beyond the GENESIS study team. Any outputs for the GENESIS study will report aggregated data on the types of questions included and the health domains covered. Individual hospitals or services will not be identified.

Healthcare staff can upload a blank copy of remote assessment questionnaires through the GENESIS outpatient staff questionnaire Go to the outpatient staff questionnaire (approx 15 min). Alternatively, you can email a copy of the document or discuss how to access the RAQ at a.kearney@liverpool.ac.uk.

For the GENESIS study we define a RAQ as a questionnaire that patients completes at home in between outpatient appointments. We use the term RAQ instead of Patient reported outcome (PRO) or Patient reported outcome measures (PROMS) as sometimes these questionnaires include more content than just PROMS. RAQs can be a validated PROM or they can be some questions that the outpatient service have decided are important for patient care. RAQs may also contain expereince measures, administrative information and other types of content.

However, questionnaires soley for research purposes, GP questionnaires, questionnaires completed during outpatient clinic appointments/ waiting rooms and national audits are not considered RAQs If you are still unsure you can discuss it with us at a.kearney@liverpool.ac.uk.
